The Simon Chan Science Scholarship has been established in memory of one of Selwyn’s most accomplished world-leading science alumni, Simon Chan, and his achievements. Simon was an Associate Professor of Plant Biology at the University of California Davis. His laboratory work led to breakthroughs in plant breeding.

The scholarship pays $8000 towards the costs of study of a selected top Year 13 student who is commencing a university science degree. The student must excel academically and also be very well rounded.  Angelene Lloyd-Bryant – who is also this year’s Dux – certainly deserves to be the winner of this scholarship.
