There was a packed theatre for the Gala Opening Evening of DUSTY on Saturday night and what a show it was! Colin Davies, Chair of the Orakei Local Board declared it, ‘the best amateur musical I’ve seen in many years’.
Our Year 13 student Ruby Wills as Dusty stunned the audience with the power of her voice and her delivery of the character. She was joined by other ‘Selwyn Stars’ including Emma Montgomery and Sam Francks as Dusty’s friends Peg and Rodney and Frankie Pastiroff as Mary O’Brien – the young Dusty. They along with everyone else in the cast and the Dusty Band, also delivered outstanding performances.
This show is not to be missed! Duncan Allan (Director), Rachel Larcombe (Musical Director), and Kim Santerelli (Choreographer) – you have done it again! How fortunate Selwyn students are to have a team like you.
