We are exceptionally delighted to report that our Year 13 student Coco Lance is the 2019 winner of the Korimako Senior English for Manu Korero Tamaki ki Waitemata. This is an amazing achievement.
Coco will now go on to represent Waitemata and Selwyn at the National Finals in Palmerston North in September. We will be sending a Roopu Tautoko to support our star!
Our Year 11 student Maia Royal also represented Selwyn and placed highly in the Senior Te Reo Maori section. Like Coco, Maia is also an eloquent, poised and powerful speaker and we are extremely proud of her.
The Ngā Manu Kōrero secondary school speech competitions are intended to encourage the development of skills and confidence of Māori students in spoken English and Māori.
