Welcome to Selwyn College Sport. Here at Selwyn College we believe SPORT IS GOOD!  Sport is central to the spirit of Selwyn, teaching teamwork, commitment and fair play. Sport provides students with many physical, mental and social benefits so they can leave as confident, healthy all-round young adults.
At Selwyn College, we provide students with the opportunity to participate in a wide range of team and individual sporting codes at both a competitive and social level. We compete in many traditional sporting codes such as Rugby, Football, Basketball and Netball and at the same time, we are constantly looking outside the sporting box, introducing new exciting sporting codes for students to participate in such as Futsal and Archery.   We aim to provide the best sporting opportunities for students to participate, develop and excel as student athletes. Quality coaching is key for athletic development and at Selwyn, we are committed to finding the best coaches available for all our sporting codes.   We also offer social sporting opportunities for students who are interested in sport for fun and fitness.

Sports Notices

Daily Sports Notices are read to students during mentor time each day and most sports meetings are held during Break 1 in the Barfoot & Thompson stadium.  It's important that students pay attention to notices in order not to miss details of meetings, sign-ups, practice times etc.  Defaults and cancellations are also in the daily notices.

We also post regular notices on our facebook page for parents and supporters.

Sports Registration

To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all those involved,  players, coaches, managers, parents and supporters must abide by the Selwyn College Sport Code of Conduct at all times.

We are very fortunate here at Selwyn to be surrounded by some of the best sporting facilities in Auckland. We have three quality irrigated fields, a full artificial cricket pitch, newly Astro turfed tennis courts and the diamond in our crown the Barfoot and Thompson Stadium. The College has plans to develop the sporting facilities in the near future.

The future is bright for Selwyn College Sport and our sporting potential,  so come join us and see how far you can go!

Contact any of the friendly staff in the Sports Office if you have any questions about sport at Selwyn.
