The Electronics and Robotics course offers the opportunity for students to engage in the design and construction of electronic products. Project work is based around the use of programmable microcontrollers. The students will develop skills in critically analysing a given learning context and developing an electronics outcome, while gaining knowledge of the fundamental concepts and principles of electronics. Students will be encouraged to use scientific methods to challenge current thinking and to provide input and feedback on course delivery. Students will also have the opportunity to design and construct an electronic circuit housed in a stylish enclosure, developed using CAD applications. Students will be learning programming languages, as well as gaining experience using 3D printers and laser cutters for product development.   

Students will gain a wide range of electrical knowledge and experience through a variety of context driven or student led projects such as automatic plant monitoring systems or autonomous vehicles. Skills and experiences could include: schematic drawing, programming with a range of software, prototyping with breadboards, electronics theory, programming for embedded electronic systems, designing and constructing electronic or electro-mechanical circuits.
