What Do We Do?

We organise fun(d-raising) activities such as Quiz Evenings and Comedy nights. We also provide refreshments and general support for parents’ evenings and school theatre productions, and are always on the lookout for new activity ideas.

Funds raised are used to support the School where needed. Over the years this has included seating for school corridors, donating to the College Welfare fund, seating and nets for the cricket grounds, sound system for the theatre, supporting the Totara Learning Centre trip to Rotorua, shade outside the Arts block and helping fund a new van for the school.

Can You Join Us?

Yes please! We’d love to get to know you and you can be as involved as much or as little as you want. You can either join the PTA or be on Our Friends of the PTA email list. Being on on the PTA means you meet other parents at our meetings at 7.30pm on the third Monday of every month in term time and help organise our trivia and comedy nights.  Friends of the PTA help in many ways, when and if you can by serving drinks at school productions, sizzling sausages at the new parent evening, helping setup morning tea for the staff, decorating the venue for Quiz night or signing up sponsors.  We would love to have you join us, just email us at tewhanauawhi@selwyn.school.nz and let us know what you’d like to do.
