Futsal

Selwyn College has a strong Futsal programme. In 2016 we won the Auckland Championships and our junior boys won the East Auckland competition. In 2017 our Senior Boys won the Eastern Zone competition and attended the National Secondary School Futsal tournament in Wellington. In 2018 we will be aiming to take both a senior and junior team to this tournament which is held in summer tournament week – 19th – 25th March.

Selwyn College enters a team in each of the Junior and Senior Boys and Girls grades in the Auckland Secondary School futsal competition. For other keen players, the school runs an intraschool league during term 1 where teams of students can play on Fridays after school. In addition, the Sports Council run social Futsal in Term 1 with games during break 1.

The Futsal season runs predominantly in Term 1, although there are additional competitions towards the end of term 3 and the beginning of term 4.

2022 INFORMATION

COMPETITION

1st XI Boys play games on a Friday night or Saturday morning, depending on their opponent. Homes games are held at Bill McKinlay Park on Fridays.
Other boys teams play on Saturday mornings on a home and away basis.

Girls teams play on Wednesday after school on a home and away basis.

TRAINING

The first XI teams train twice a week, while all other teams have a weekly training. Times are confirmed with each team and subject to player and coach availability.

FEES

1st XI Boys – $150.00 per season

13A Boys – $120.00 per season

All other teams – $80.00

Fees cover coaching, entry fees, equipment and uniforms.

UNIFORM

1st XI play in the school 1st XI uniform.

Senior teams play in black shorts and school issued tops.

Junior teams play in PE uniform.

PARENT HELP

We are always looking for coaches and managers – please contact the Sports Department if you can assist.
Parents will need to help transport teams to games.
