Last week our Jazz Band enjoyed further success winning a Silver Award at the KBB Festival. This is a fantastic achievement!

The KBB Festival brings together a large range of school ensembles who perform at either St Mary’s or Holy Trinity Cathedral. The challenges of Covid have hit them hard in recent times with lessons and rehearsals forced outside in Term 1. This meant our students were very excited to be able to perform to an audience.

The band came together with strong cohesiveness and performed the programme of: Listen Here; Moten Swing; Limbo Jazz and Sign Me Up to a high level. The adjudicators made specific mention of the band’s strong sound, excellent solos, nice blend and use of dynamics. Thank you to our enthusiastic Jazz Band Director Hamish Arthur.
